Blades was established in 1981, by now-retired Marilyn Newton, and for the last 40 years, the Blades brand has been recognized in the industry as one of the leading hairdressing salons in the Vaal Triangle.

Chris du Toit, a protégé of Marilyn, took over the reins at Blades in February 2020 and continues the excellence and passion for hairstyling techniques.  Chris strongly believes in the capabilities of the Blades team and continuing the proud customer service excellence the Blades brand is well known for.​
